Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-25

This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit our website, create an account, try or buy Bayplan, and use the Bayplan desktop app, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Maximilian Brenner (Bayplan), Schenkendorfstraße 55, 04275 Leipzig, Germany. Email: [email protected]. More details are in the imprint.

For questions about your data or to exercise your rights, write to [email protected].

2. Service providers

We use carefully selected providers for hosting, email delivery, file storage and backups, and usage statistics. They process data only on our behalf and following our instructions (Art. 28 GDPR), and we prefer providers that keep data in the EU.

Licenses are sold by our reseller, which acts as merchant of record and processes your purchase as an independent controller under its own privacy policy (see the imprint).

3. Visiting the website

When you visit our website, your browser sends technical data, such as your IP address. We use it only to deliver the website and keep it secure.

4. Your account

When you create an account, we store your name, email address and a securely encrypted password, and send you emails about your account.

You can delete your account at any time on your account page. Licenses you bought stay valid and keep working.

5. Purchases

Payments are handled by our reseller; we never see your payment details. We receive the details of your purchase, such as your name, email address and license, so we can deliver Bayplan and show your licenses in your account.

6. Licenses, trials and updates

The Bayplan app regularly checks with us that your license or trial is valid and whether updates are available. For this it sends your license details and basic information about your computer and the app. We use this to deliver updates, to make sure licenses are used as agreed, and to offer each computer one free trial.

The app works with your AWS accounts directly from your computer. Your AWS credentials and data never reach us.

7. Contact, bug reports and feature requests

When you use the contact form or email us, we use your name, email address and message to answer you.

When you send a bug report or feature request, we keep it and our conversation about it so we can follow up and improve Bayplan.

8. Usage statistics

We collect anonymous statistics about how our website and app are used, to improve them. They never include your AWS data. You can turn them off in the app’s settings.

9. Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in, not for tracking or advertising.

10. How long we keep data

We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires.

11. Your rights

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 21). Write to [email protected].

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the one in the EU country where you live or work.

We don’t use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

12. Changes

We update this policy when our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
